Concept design
The stage before the drawing. I work out what the space has to achieve, who it has to move and in what order, then design the thing that does it. Quoted before it starts, and priced as its own piece of work.
I design for how people move, not for how the space photographs. Where they stop, what turns them, how long they stay, what they do next. Answer that honestly and the structure follows — usually quickly, and usually for less than the version that started with a stand.

Each one started as a question about behaviour rather than a question about square metres. The stands are the answers.

Your client, your name, my thinking. I work behind your badge: concept, design engineering and project management, delivered in your templates. A standing arrangement with several agencies and build partners who would rather not say so publicly.
Someone has to hold the idea while it survives contact with a build schedule. I stay on through technical design, production and install, so the thing that opens on day one is still the thing that was sold.

04 About
Most of it in London, a good deal of it in Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and Italy, and occasionally somewhere that required a visa and a short conversation about freight. I run NeosCreative, a small creative production agency, with my colleague Jody.
This page is the freelance side of that: the concept work on its own, for people who already have the build covered and want the thinking to be better than the budget suggests it should be. I am commercially minded and I am comfortable being told no — both of which make the first conversation shorter.
More about me05 Journal
Short pieces written between stands. Mostly about the gap between what a brief says and what a client actually needs.
